WHAT ACTUALLY IS OZONE?
Ozone is a form of oxygen that instead of the normal two oxygen atoms 02 - like oxygen in the atmosphere - contains three oxygen atoms, O3. Ozone is a harmless but very useful substance. It reacts with organic substances
to oxidize (eliminate) unpleasant odors and bacteria. If ozone cannot find any substance with which it can react, it will break down again to O² (oxygen) by itself after a short time.
The OZONOS generates ozone through ultraviolet radiation,
just as it happens in nature. Our patented and TÜV-certified process copies the natural origin
of ozone in the ozone layer to remove odors, germs and viruses without leaving any residue.
HOW DOES OZONE CLEAN THE AIR?
The third oxygen atom of O³ is only weakly bound to the other two. It therefore easily separates from these in order to combine with other substances. This compound causes the oxidation (elimination) of odor-causing substances, germs, viruses, bacteria, mold spores and allergens.

WHY DOES OZONE DESTROY VIRUSES, GERMS AND BACTERIA?
With ozone O3, the third oxygen atom is only weakly bound to the other two. It therefore separates easily to combine with other substances. The weakly bound oxygen atom O is released to the molecule (oxidation). In this reaction, the partner molecule usually breaks down or changes its properties. The rest of the ozone, i.e. the molecular oxygen 02, remains as normal atmospheric oxygen.
A lot of proteins are built into the outer skin of germs, bacteria or fungi, viruses, spores, but also on the surface of many allergens (house dust mite excrement, animal hair). Ozone reacts very gladly with these proteins and destroys them in the process. In the case of living organisms such as bacteria, viruses or fungi, this creates a hole in the outer shell.
This usually leads to the death or rupture of the cell.
